Commerce mission

  • Government vide G.O. (Rt) No. 1329/2018/ID dated 20/07/2018 has constituted a Commerce Mission for the State.
  • To promote economic growth, sustainable development in the Commerce Sector and also to find National & International Markets for the products of MSMEs from Kerala.
  • The first meeting of the Commerce Mission was held on January 16, 2019 at Thiruvananthapuram.
  • The Hon'ble Minister for Industries, Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Kerala attended the first meeting of Commerce Mission.
  • The Meeting decided that Commerce Mission will act as an institutional mechanism and as an advisory body for regular interaction between Enterprises and State Government focusing on the promotion of Commerce Sector in the State.
  • A Review Meeting of Commerce Mission chaired by the Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Sports & Youth Affairs was held on July 17, 2019.
  • The Meeting decided to constitute a Governing Body for the Commerce Mission with Principal Secretary (Industries) as the Chairman and the Director of Industries & Commerce as the Executive Director.
  • The Review Meeting also decided that the activities of Commerce Mission will be coordinated through the existing facilities of K-BIP.
  • Vide G.O. (Rt) No. 766/2019/ID dated 09/08/2019, Government of Kerala has constituted a Governing Body for Commerce Mission to monitor the day to day activities of the Mission. The first Governing Body of Commerce Mission chaired by Principal Secretary (Industries) was held on September 3, 2019.
  • As part of the activities of Commerce Mission, the Meeting decided to organise trade delegations to different Countries and opportunity will be provided for Kerala businessmen/entrepreneurs to learn more about National & International markets.

  • A High Level Business Delegation led by the Hon. Minister (Industries, Sports & Youth Affairs) visited Nepal.
  • For participation in the Food Tech Asia 2019 Exhibition being organised from September 25 to 28, 2019 at Kathmandu, Nepal.
  • 10 MSMEs from Kerala participating under the banner of Kerala State Pavilion.

Business delegation to Maldives

  • A business delegation led by Director (Industries & Commerce) with a business delegation (MSMEs) from Kerala visited Maldives.
  • For participation in the India Expo 2019 Exhibition from October 15 to 17, 2019 at Dharubaaruge, Maldives.
  • 14 entrepreneurs from Kerala participated in the Event.
