Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion (K-BIP) is an Autonomous Body under the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Kerala with Principal Secretary (Industries) as the Chairman and Director (Industries & Commerce) as the Executive Director. This is a registered society under the Travancore Cochin Scientific Literary & Charitable Societies Act, 1955. The Bureau was established in the year 1991.
K-BIP is constituted for promoting the potential business opportunities of the State to the foresighted entrepreneurs and to highlight the ideal business climate prevailing in Kerala. K-BIP works in close co-ordination with other Promotional Agencies for the industrial development giving specific attention to the strategic advantages, the various Governmental supports and other incentives offered in the different sectors of the industry.
K-BIP provides operational flexibility and acts as a support mechanism for the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Kerala. K-BIP also functions as an interface between the prospective entrepreneurs and other State Agencies. K-BIP also interacts between National and International Organisations for technology upgradation, technology development and technology management for the various industrial sectors.
